To answer the question: CHDK does not add Canon SDK functionality to cameras which do not have it. CHDK does have it's own PTP Extension, but this is not compatible with the Canon SDK. reyalp (talk) 00:25, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

: Please use the forum for your questions, I find talk pages quite inconvenient for this kind of discussion. Regarding your last question: The CHDK PTP extension does not do anything specific with WIA. To use the CHDK functions, you must use a client specifically written for the CHDK protocol. Standard canon functions are unchanged, but for existing clients, you have to install the libusb driver, which depending on the OS, camera and various other factors may make the camera invisible to regular windows software. canon sdk question Edit

Saw your question on waterwingz page talk page. In general, you are more likely to get help on the forum http://chdk.setepontos.com/index.php?action=forum rather than posting questions on the wiki. The welcome message you got in waterwingz name is actually autogenerated by the wiki software.

To answer the question: CHDK does not add Canon SDK functionality to cameras which do not have it. CHDK does have it's own PTP Extension, but this is not compatible with the Canon SDK. reyalp (talk) 00:25, July 29, 2012 (UTC)
