Talk:CHDK/Suggestions
From CHDK Wiki
CHDK overall menu reorganization suggestion: Most of the initial menu arrangement has not been geared toward photo shot - i.e. allow the user to perform photo/video settings without going too deep in the menu tree.
- Move the Bracketing menu one level up. 'Additional photo operation' menu would become the 'Override menu' and the 'Bracketing in continuous mode' become 'Bracketing'.
- Except for the toggling on and off of the different displays (Zebra, Histogram, OSD), the display configuration may be moved to a deeper menu level to free up the main menu. To be noted that the toggling of display is already done through short cut keys.
- Move the 'Open text file...' to the main menu may be a questionable suggestion. However, this could be useful if the user want to display own help files.
The suggested menu may look like this:
1. Bracketing
2. Overrides
3. RAW parameters
4. Video parameters
5. Grid selection
6. Display settings
6.1 OSD
6.2 Histogram
6.3 Zebra
6.4 Battery
...
7. Open text file...
8. Applications
8.1 File browser
8.2 Games
8.3 Debug
8.4 Other settings
Bracketing feature change suggestion:
- On A610, use the property 219 with 6 to allow to optionally activate bracketing only in 'Custom Drive Mode'. This would allow the basic user to leave the bracket value in an only activate the bracketing only with one change (set to custom drive mode). I have compiled a test version that worked well. The user can also quickly activate the continuous mode (usually to do rapid shooting urgently) without having to worry about deactivating the bracketing.
