[edit] Cleanup and generalization

Would it not be a good idea to generalize this page, since it applies to many (if not all) models? I don't really see these instructions anywhere else on the wiki, so I guess it would be appropriate to do? I could do it but I don't immediately want to destroy the original author's work completely, unless it's ok. --DataGhost

You are right! SRY for the maliure.. I fixed it. When I saw your comment, (Bootdisk diskboot) Suddenly I was confused. So I changed everything but recognized it was not so good..... :-( Thanks...  :-) As you wish modify the page. Titan_G9

Hey there, this page lacks information about the g7_blinker. What is that? How do I compile it? Why do I need it? And so on.

[edit] Using multipartition cards in windows

The article says that Windows will only see the first partition on an SD card, and describes some gymnastics to swap the partitions. But this only applies for internal card readers in windows PCs, where the SD card is handled as "superfloppy". If the card is put in a USB card reader, it becomes an external hard disk, and Windows handles the partitions without problems.

  • This may be the case with your equipment - but that's not the standard behaviour.
The Windows (W2k, Win XP, Vista) default driver shows only a single partition (the first one) on almost all USB card readers, regardless whether they're internal or external ones.
In your case either a different driver is installed (e.g from another USB device, sometimes also the manufacturer ships a modified driver, e.g. Asus for the Eee-PC series) or your card reader is reported as a HD-like USB mass storage device (rare, but could be possible - it's just a bit in the USB device identification).
