A720 manual booting possible?

I have a PowerShot A720 IS. The CHDK firmware does not deliver a PS.FIR file for that model
and booting from a 2G SD works very well. Now I have a project which needs a lot more flash
and want to use a 8G or 16G card. Can I somehow load CHDK from such a card?
